UHF RFID tags are commonly referred to as ‚micro‘ or ‚close-range‘ UHF RFID tags. These tags are designed to operate in the near-field region of the UHF RFID spectrum which typically ranges is from about 865 MHz to 928 MHz. In the near-field region, the behaviour of electromagnetic waves is influenced by both magnetic and electric field components.
Those tags are characterized by their smaller dimensions compared to traditional UHF RFID tags designed for longer-range applications.
These tags are optimized for close-range communication with an RFID reader, typically within a range of a few centimetres to a few meters. The magnetic component of the electromagnetic wave plays a significant role in the near-field communication of these tags.
We developed these tags in response to a customer’s specific request for industrial applications, particularly in the field of robotics. These tags are ideal for scenarios where compact design is essential, and there are unique identification requirements.
Their use extends to specialized communication devices for tasks such as identification, monitoring, maintenance, service, and configuration of equipment. These tags provide innovative solutions, even in challenging areas where conventional approaches seem unfeasible.
Please do not hesitate to consult us with your request. We will be happy to share our experiences using UHF RFID near-field tags.
